The Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) is a nationally-recognized nonprofit that provides industry-led training and certification on the skills needed to begin and advance a career in advanced manufacturing.
High school juniors and seniors are the earliest to qualify, but everyone else is welcome!
An MSSC Certified Production Technician (CPT) ® 4.0 certificate is an industry-recognized credential that shows companies you are qualified for employment in front-line production and material handling. It will set you apart from other applicants as you compete for high-paying jobs in your community or throughout the country. Many workers in our community who received this training in the past are now earning up to $50 an hour with good benefits.
These courses are built upon MSSC’s e-learning which includes modular courses for Safety, Quality Practices & Measurement, Manufacturing Process & Production, and Maintenance Awareness. You will build practical and advanced expertise in cutting-edge technologies, including: Pneumatics; Hydraulics; 5G; Artificial Intelligence (AI); Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT); Additive (3D) Manufacturing; Autonomous Robots; Augmented Reality; Data Analytics; Nanomanufacturing; Advanced Materials; Tool Standardization and the Mechanics of Advanced Manufacturing.
This is a completely free opportunity for you through grant funding secured by the United Steelworkers (costs approximately $2,500 at some institutions). Training will be provided at different times and locations near you. You must complete 120 hours of coursework. Because this is grant funded, there are limited spaces available, so it’s important to apply early.
